3-Day-2 Nights White Desert & Bahariya from Cairo

Depart early from Cairo for a 5-hour drive (340 km) to Bahariya Oasis, surrounded by volcanic black hills and famous for its natural hot springs. Upon arrival in Bawiti, the oasis capital, enjoy lunch at a local lodge before setting out on an off-road desert adventure.
Begin your exploration in the Black Desert, formed by volcanic activity and covered with dark iron-rich rocks. Stop at Gabal El Marsos (Divided Mountain), then continue toward El Hez Bedouin Village. En route to the White Desert, visit Crystal Mountain, known for its quartz formations, and Agabat El Sharkia, where golden sand dunes meet white chalk cliffs.
See El Santa Tree, one of the desert’s oldest trees, before entering the White Desert National Park, famous for its surreal, wind-sculpted formations shaped like mushrooms, animals, and faces. As the sun sets, watch the landscape glow in shades of gold and pink.
End the day with a Bedouin-style BBQ dinner under a starlit sky accompanied by traditional music. Overnight in a desert camp surrounded by silence and beauty.

Wake to a serene sunrise over the chalk formations and enjoy breakfast in the heart of the desert. Take a short hike through the Valley of Tents Rocks before returning across the White Desert toward Bahariya. Stop by a warm spring for a refreshing swim before returning to your hotel.
After lunch and rest, begin an afternoon tour of Bahariya’s main sites. Visit El Meftella Mountain, Salty Lake, Dest (Pyramid Mountain), and Maghrafa Mountain. Continue to Bir El Ghaba and El Matar hot springs, where you can bathe in mineral-rich waters. If time allows, end the day at English Mountain, where British forces once stood watch, and enjoy a sunset view over the oasis. Overnight in Bahariya.

After breakfast, depart Bahariya at 10:30 AM and enjoy a scenic drive back to Cairo. Arrive in the afternoon around 3:30 PM, marking the end of your desert journey.
